Freshwater reservoir found at one of Beijing’s artificial islands in the South China Sea

  • Chinese scientists discovered the body of water beneath Fiery Cross Reef and it’s thought to be expanding at a fast rate of 1 metre a year
  • They believe land reclamation has accelerated the process, and similar reservoirs may be forming at other man-made islands.

A fast-expanding body of freshwater has appeared under one of Beijing’s controversial man-made islands in the South China Sea, a Chinese study has found.

The freshwater was discovered beneath Fiery Cross Reef, known as Yongshu in China, and is believed to be growing at a rate of about 1 metre (3.3 feet) per year – more than twice the speed observed on naturally formed islands.
Similar reservoirs could also be building up under other artificial islands across the region, according to researchers from the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology in Guangzhou.

They could “serve as an important water resource for local inhabitants and ecosystems”, the team led by marine geologist Xu Hehua said in a peer-reviewed paper in the Journal of Hydrology last month.
Beijing claims sovereignty over most of the resource-rich South China Sea, but there are rival claims from its neighbours, and its island-building activities over the past six years have unnerved the region and drawn criticism from the US.

Futurama – Evolution vs Creationism

There are several videos that discuss the debate between Evolution and Creationism in-depth and this is one that uses ridicule in a process to make a point. The video is talking about a scientist who takes a stand that the evolution of “human” or Homosapien was based on darwin’s theory that in the process of survival certain mutations are more preferred and passed on, then other’s which perish due to nature.

There are also several interesting characters opposite this view. Specifically, a creature that looks like a floating spaghetti. Now it is not common sense that something like a spaghetti which is actually a food can be sentient i.e. something that has emotions. But as we have seen several movies in recent times like “bicentennial man”, “I, Robot”, “Enthiran” or “Ex-Machina” that metal object can behave like objects that can have emotion based on an algorithm or some form of logic now if that is possible based on the fact that we are storing data on devices like transistors and diodes which control and regulate the flow of electrons now imagine a future i.e. the context of this show futurama, a future in which you have a simple sentient algorithm that when added or stored in a sub-sub-sub Quark level to your everyday food items made of atoms and electrons or any everyday object and it can become a talking, emotional or in short sentient? Then where would you put this creation i.e. this spaghetti on the “tree of life”.

New Religious Movement (N.R.M.) : Wild Wild Country (Netflix)

The Wild Wild Country the documentary was an amazing experiment gone wrong. The fundamental essence of it was to see if religious tolerance was accepted in the said country and if secularism is something that is really what it claims to be in the said place .i.e Neo-Wester world.  Unfortunately, the process or the means by which both parties, in this case, the conservative locals and the paganistic / N.R.M believers approached this problem was via a paranoia rather than rational or realistic means. Albeit I would give them the benefit of doubt as well as the fact most or some of them might be in a state of “culture shock” plus the added factor that they were or might have been in extreme drug and intoxication for starters. From the beginning, it was projected to be an experiment. Secondly the appearance of what it is not in any way connected to Sanatana Dharma. It was one individual who tried to use some philosophy to advocate a specific political motive rather than to advocate peace or prosperity amongst them.

நாடு கடத்தல் ஒப்பந்தம் ரத்து, ஹாங்காங்கை சேர்ந்தவர்களுக்கு நிரந்தர குடியுரிமை: தீவிரமடையும் ஆஸ்திரேலியா-சீன மோதல்

ஆஸ்திரேலியாவில் வசிக்கும் ஹாங்காங்கை சேர்ந்தவர்களை நாடு கடுத்தும் இரு நாட்டு ஒப்பந்தத்தை ஆஸ்திரேலிய அரசு ரத்து செய்துள்ளது. மேலும், குடியுரிமை தொடர்பாகவும் மாற்றங்கள் கொண்டு வந்துள்ளது.

இதற்கிடையில், ஹாங்காங்கில் தேசிய பாதுகாப்பு சட்டத்தை சீனா அமல்படுத்தியுள்ளது. இதனால் ஹாங்காங் மக்கள் பலர் தங்கள் நகரை விட்டு வெளியேறி வெளிநாடுகளில் தஞ்சமடைந்த வண்ணம் உள்ளனர். அவ்வாறு வருபவர்களுக்கு பல நாடுகளுக்கும் அடைக்கலம் கொடுத்து வருகின்றன.
