The Wild Wild Country the documentary was an amazing experiment gone wrong. The fundamental essence of it was to see if religious tolerance was accepted in the said country and if secularism is something that is really what it claims to be in the said place .i.e Neo-Wester world. Unfortunately, the process or the means by which both parties, in this case, the conservative locals and the paganistic / N.R.M believers approached this problem was via a paranoia rather than rational or realistic means. Albeit I would give them the benefit of doubt as well as the fact most or some of them might be in a state of “culture shock” plus the added factor that they were or might have been in extreme drug and intoxication for starters. From the beginning, it was projected to be an experiment. Secondly the appearance of what it is not in any way connected to Sanatana Dharma. It was one individual who tried to use some philosophy to advocate a specific political motive rather than to advocate peace or prosperity amongst them.
There a certain old practices that are part of mostly Nomadic or pre-civilization practices like human branding and mutilation and certain shamanic beliefs that are considered a form of prehistoric surgery without anesthetics that were when viewed by or either seen by the outsiders as being a practice of witchcraft or devil worship. It cannot be completely accepted as Medicine, it would be better to utter deny these as Medicine. These were the dark ages where people were not capable of categorizing and cataloging things or journaling them. They were several repeats and rerepeats to the same results and some found these as a means to contradict the mainstream or societal values. The “Satanism” and “Sanatana Dharma” is a good example of reaching the said viewpoint one is not the same as the other. And is completely misleading to reach a devious end.
The Wild Wild Country and Rajneesh are not Hinduism in any sense. And they are not what is represented by Hinduism. The True Value of Hinduism is a “common balance” and if there is too much good it is not tried to be balanced with a little bad on the contrary it is in times of extreme peace that people try to meditate to even higher and deeper samadhis focusing on foresight and predictions. Science is advanced in a state of absolute peace and prosperity and the leisure offers, even more, control and command.
Some of the aspects of the Wild Wild Country gave me a feeling that there were several elements that are connected to paganism or pre-medieval witchcraft that were added to make the whole look like this was what it stands for. Wrong beliefs are considered untouchable in every society be it Christianity, Islam & Hinduism, or even atheist in that case. Just because you belong to a cult doesn’t me they could scheme Machiavellianism and escape it.
All these religions in the above video would condemn any or everything that is causing human harm. There are certain things that can be used as a clever way to criticize and some others that are not. Trying to create a sense of western liberalism while hiding or plotting political motives to reach a misplaced or misleading “ism” is not going to help anyone.
There was once a man who lived in absolute riches and he had everything it was an absolute state of ecstasy. He lived in a palace, he could get anything he wanted yet, the moment he stepped out of his palace he was stuck by the most simple fundamental fact “death”. He went into a deep depression and in search of Truth of Nature and finally got Nirvana. No one told him to do, there was no force on him, he didn’t have any obstacles yet, he went ahead and started preaching Buddhism. His common balance was achieved via introspection, not on exaggeration or extroversion.
